Larry is really busy getting his classroom in order. He is in a brand new classroom with all new montessori materials. He is in heaven with supplies he was never able get get at the charter schools. He really seems to like his classroom aide, he compares her to Miss Leydi his last aide who he adored. Meet the teacher night was Thursday and he met a few of his students.
Isaac started his home studies this week and we were off to a great start. He is learning about JFK. He is getting ready to research the Cuban Missle Crisis as a result of his study into JFK. He watched a few videos on the assassination and read a book about the life and times. he is also studying English History. His nani bought him Gulliver Travels and in turn is writing a book report on the adventure. This has become his newest "favorite book". Isaac will start back to enrichment program on Monday, he is taking a supplemental math and writing class, lego machines and will learn to play the recorder and eukele this year, among other classes. Then in 2 weeks he will return to ELP (smart kids class).
Julia started "speech preschool" this year. She will go to the public elementary school three days a week for 2-1/2 hours for speech and other activities. She will continue with Sweetwater Bay Montessori two days a week. We already miss Ms. Carolyn and Ms Stacey daily. They have done so much to help Julia along with her speech delay. If we don't see progress in the next few months we will pull her out and put her back into the daily care of These fine teachers.
Here is a few pictures of our Pumpkin Pie on her first day of Speech School. She had been running a high fever earlier in the week and I think she still looks a little pale in these pictures. Nani bought her dress for her first day.
She insisted on taking pictures with her little horse and refused to give me a "nice" smile. Gotta love the age of three!
